Midwives to an Egg

So, you remember that time when Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World, the narrator from the Tom Baker Doctor Who, and the White Shadow all got together to break away from Great Britain?

How's that not the best Blendsday concept ever?  It's even got Pepper Potts' mom, the governor from Benson, and Holling from Northern Exposure.  Seriously, you just can't go wrong celebrating July 4th on Wednesday by watching this classic musical.  (If you've never seen it, whet your appetite here with the first scene.)

  1. I have never seen this. I liked the opening scene but have to wonder how many times "Mr. Adams" had to shoot the scene where he had to go down those zillion stairs. Thanks for the YouTube clip. I am going to see if I can locate a torrent of this.

  2. Ha! He is sure of foot... There are times where I think you can tell that William Daniels had some training as a dancer.

I should warn people that nearly all of this movie is much more corny and hokey -- and charming -- than one would expect for something made in 1972, well past the golden age of musicals. (But then there's that bit where Thomas Jefferson's wife comes for a visit, and the writing of the Declaration is put on hold for a while. The time period then makes some sense...) :-)

    1. Was Shelly even born in 1972? I'm afraid to check... :-)

    2. Hey, by the way, I'm glad that Blogger doesn't just auto-update old posts with the newest versions of someone's image avatar. It's cool to see all of your old ones as I go through these posts.

(Though I think mine, the same since 2011, could probably use a dustin' up...)
