A week or two ago, I saw an interesting Star Trek related meme by someone named Skye Gray (but it's hard to pin down its true origin). I thought it really got to the hopeful heart of the franchise. However, Discovery wasn't represented -- meaning it was probably made prior to 2017 -- and there were a few pieces of the puzzle that I didn't quite think were optimized. Ooooohhhhhh.... I actually didn't get your original joke! Wesley (and Lwaxana) are the ones expressing these desires. Der. Sorry. I guess that's the case for most of the above parts of the meme, but I got wrapped up in the idea that it's the fans expressing these desires, and the characters are embodying them.
