Old School Tiny Harmonies

The third and final Tiny Harmony of March is here...  I've got only one haiku, but I tried to draw inspiration from all three themes (quench, loam, and the real) and create an alchemical mixture...

My little garden,
Hemmed in by towers of change.
I keep watering.

Yes, I know... I'll own being a crusty ol' curmudgeon about some things.  Note that I didn't say that I totally reject the changing world around me... that wouldn't be acknowledging the real, would it?  :-)

Apologies for not posting more... I've been racking up the posts for the April A-Z Challenge (see more about my theme here), so please stay tuned for the coming deluge in just over a week!

  1. Ah, city living... That's why I ran away to the woods.

I look forward to your A-Z deluge!

    1. The city was awesome for me between the ages of 18 and 28... then it wasn't. :-) I'm pretty much in the woods now, too.

  2. I think that's my favorite of yours. :)

    1. Aw, thanks. I think it resonates with your 3rd one. I'll be hoppin' around to the blogs a little later to comment. Right now, work beckons...

    1. Thanks! It's funny... the first two came to me rather quickly, but this one was the result of lots more deliberating. I guess the lesson, even with just 17 syllables, is revise, revise, and revise some more! :-)

  4. This is my favorite of your haiku.
Everytime I travel to any big city I envision living there but a huge deck, rooftop garden would be a necessity. Much like your photo.
But I am at heart a western gal who needs her big sky and wide open spaces.

    cheers, parsnip

    1. In reality, the place in the photo isn't all that tranquil, but it's an awesome shot -- I lived a few blocks away from there when going to college in Philadelphia. My visits to cities now are surgical strikes: get in and get out! :-)

  5. Nice synthesis of all three. I like it very much. Haiku is so...pithy. I also only wrote one. :)

    2. Yes it has, very interesting to see what everybody comes up with. Granny Annie and I both appreciated your bonus haiku, an ode Mr. Ed. :)
I look forward to your coming deluge.
